| Tucker was sold at auction in January of this year while still a stallion, and had recently been broken (bucked like a champ when I went to pick him up, and He never did that came out of the trainers mouth). It took me a week to find the man who bought him for $130, and he kindly sold him back to me for $800, but not without first doing a home-style gelding, which would have gone badly if I hadnt brought him back home. My vet sat on the ground and nearly cried when he saw the damage. Tucker was infected, and still had some of his scrotum left. We made plans to re-geld him, but a round of antibiotics must have done the trick, because after having to postpone a couple of times due to rainy weather, his scrotum shrunk to what it should have been, and hes totally healed up. Whew!
His brother did not kindly receive him back into his loving bosom, and ran him through the fence, so hes been imprisoned in a small pen for several months. He needs a job, and hes a good, stout guy with loads of potential. The trader who bought him at the auction said he rode good, but they didnt break him into a lope, where the bucking appears. I hated to see him start on the road of horse traders, and even though I was called a crazy b, and my horse badmouthed by the trainer who, before said he was a great horse with a good mind...I bought him back. I had made no provisions to P.O. him, not thinking for a second that he wouldnt bring a tolerable price.
Tucker is in his prime, and just needs someone to give him a little attention and hell be a pretty good horse. Hes bred very well, and has the Impressive muscling without being HYPP positive. Never bred; not current on Coggins but will have one pulled if you buy, so you can have a negative one to take him home with.
Give him a chance; its not his fault hes where he is in life. |
