| Is your horse sitting the pasture unridden? Do you have a problem horse that needs fixing? Do you have colt that needs starting? Are you interested in having a light responsive horse that is a joy to ride? Look no further! A young but very experienced rider is here to help you train the horse of your dreams. I am seventeen years old and have ridden my entire life, in the last three years I have specialized in colt starting and fixing what many people call problem horses. I have started many colts and laid down the foundation to many very good horses. In starting my colts I strive for a very light and responsive horse I want them to move in each gait and stop in each gait with ease, I want them to be responsive and light responding to my cues such as stopping, backing up, turning, slowing down, etc. I do many hours of ground work with my colts I want them to be patient, aware and as responsive on the ground as when I am riding them. I strive to achieve these qualities with light and as minimal pressure as possible. I also do some de-spooking training with them they are worked on with tarps, plastic bags, logs, water and many other things they may encounter on the trail like cars, bikes, people, dogs and other animals. I like to start them on the trail to help keep a well rounded horse confident horse. I lay down a good foundation for a good, confident, well rounded, positive horse. I also do a lot of work with problem horses if you have a horse that you feel is unsafe and you cannot feel confident riding I can help. I work on the horses problem areas as well their overall training and strive to fix your horses problem areas and make a well mannered horse that you can feel confident and safe riding.
My horses are ridden or ground worked at least a five times a week with an average working sessions lasting for forty to sixty minutes. While I am training your horse their care is a priority to me horses are fed good quality hay three times a day or are fed from very nice round bales (no dust) and have access to fresh water and a salt block 24/7, horses are on safely fenced pasture at least five hours daily, and I only use properly fitting equipment. I have references if needed.
All breeds and ages are welcome!
If your horse is located within a reasonable distance of the facility that I use, and you would like for your horse to stay at your facility and be trained by myself, I can travel to you for a separate fuel surcharge fee.**** With training different horses, I ask that the horse comes with a halter, lead rope, riding equipment, grooming equipment and any sheets or blankets. I want to keep the health of your horse important and having fitted equipment, their own grooming (or sheets, and blankets) is a must.
Price for the 2009 season will be $350 for 4 weeks of training. We will require a $150 when you drop the horse off to start training, and the remainder paid when the horse is picked up. For colt starting I recommend 8 weeks of training. Prices are negotiable in some cases for any questions E-mail desiree.weatherly@yahoo.com
