| Angel’s Ellie May is approximately 15H, just starting under saddle. We call her the Barbie horse - shes just gorgeous! Gaits beautifully and is super smooth under saddle. I dont know enough about gaited horses to train her properly and I have another young horse at home I want to concentrate on this year so Ellie is looking for her new person. Current on vaccinations, Coggins, teeth (I can give you the receipts). She does have a slightly crooked hind ankle from being stepped on at birth, but it does not affect her movement. Very sensitive to your moods and respectful of humans on the ground. No bite, buck, or kick. (She does not like getting shots however).
In the round pen she will carry a huge tarp, bags of cans or what have you. I have only been on her back about 6 times and I took her this winter to an indoor arena for Mounted Police training. She walked right out for me, past obstacles and over a mattress like it wasnt there. Another horse was acting like a real dork, bucking and spinning and running around and Ellie didnt turn a hair, it was no big deal. She stands solid while you get on, goes forward when asked and that is basically all Ive done with her at this point. Has been ridden down the road and on the trails, did awesome! No problems with cars, dogs or garbage cans!
Her dam, Angels’ Little Princess (dam’s sire Ebony’s Silver Lining), came up from Tennessee. Mom is a sabino roan with gaits to die for; sire (Sophie’s Top Gun) is a palomino. Ellie is naturally gaited and smooth, just needs time under saddle. Ready to hit the trails!
UPDATE July 2009 - went on the trails for the first time.. she did AWESOME. Thru water, over bridges, no issues with mountain bikes or aggressive dogs. |
