  | | Dolly is a beautiful 6 yr old quarterhorse sorrel mare. She is approximately 15 hands. (Bloodlines include: Sire: Mr. Midge Bar , Sure Skippa - Dam: Kings Lucky Jewel - Leo Slash) Previous owner showed her in halter classes from baby till 2 1/2.... Since owning her I have had her to a trainer - broke out for WTC. She does need work on her lope.(I am happy at walk trot) I did take her to a couple shows summer of 2006 and rode her in walk/trot classes. She had no problems being there. She is pretty good at picking up leads - needs more work with headset. She is current on all shots trimmings and worming. she has current 2009 coggins. She also loads like a dream and stands tied in trailer or out. Reason I am selling mostly is to pay for another horse much older - totally broke. If my hours had not been at work since 2/09 would have been able to earn the money without having to sell her. Dolly needs more time on her and I consider myself pretty green and at 52 would much rather have a well broke just get on and ride kinda horse. You can clip her - bathe her and she takes a bit very well. She stands tied very well to whatever you tie her too. Sometimes while saddling she will look at you crabby but once saddle is on thats gone. Considering my riding ability at this time I feel she has done very well with me altho I would not consider her good for a green rider. If I was young again and had more confidence in myself I would not sell her. Shes easy to catch always comes running to greet you with nickers. Likes to be groomed would probably do fantastic as a horse all by herself. Is used to being stalled or turned out. This past year she can come and go out of her stall as she wishes. ....... All and all she has had a great start - has not been beaten or abused - The only bad thing I can really say about her is when she cycles she is marish. I have never tried her on Regumate nor have I ever bred her. Possibly one of the 2 would take care of that or just aging will help. I guess if your an experienced rider or have money to send her off for another 30-60 days you would end up with a very nice horse. She has been desensitized to so many things that nothing really phases her - I think she would be an outstanding trail horse because of it. Most of the riding I have done with her is in the arena - she has been on trail and in field but I would not say shes trail broke.
