Beginner-Family Friendly Mare

| | Sandra is a flashy mare with all the color and flash you could want in a riding partner if you are looking to turn heads everywhere you go. She is a Champagne appy (this color is actually called AMBER, neat huh). This is a hard to find color. She has the golden color with the brown stockings, along with the tan and white striped mane and tail. This mares color is one not many have seen. If you take the time to go and look up about champagne horses, you will see this color if very unique. Sandra has the wonderful coat color but what I find most striking about this mare is that she has sparkling amber eyes. They are truly something unique to the color and the champagne gene. Sandra stands about 15.1 and weighs in at 1209lbs. She has good straight legs with good bone and good feet. She is 100% sound and easy to handle. Sandra has excellent ground manners, she leads, loads, clips, ties, cross ties, stands great for worming, the farrier, shots, and takes a bath. This mare is very easy to ride and handle. She would be great for anyone wanting a good safe and dependable trail mount. She is the same horse day in and day out. She is the horse most weekend riders are looking for, because she can be left out to pasture for a week or two, caught up, saddled, mounted, and taken on a ride. Sandra is also quite and responsive enough to be ridden by a child or beginner with out any worries of her bucking, bolting or acting out. She has a nice neck rein on her, good stop, easy back up, and responds well when you ask her to move from pressure. When introduced to cattle, we are unsure if she up until now has ever been around cattle, she did great. She wanted to work them. She moves well with them using here rear end well and appearing to have a natural knack for it. We have taken used her to drag down dead fall and brush, and actually a pretty big log and she did it like she had been doing it her whole life. She did not mind the rope on her rear and hind legs; she acted like a lady and did not kick out at the rope or seem to be bother by it at all. I really think she likes to be ridden. Sandra is a horse that would really prefer to be out riding with you, either taking in the views or working on the ranch, then standing around just hanging out and eating. Sandra moves easy through her gaits and does well holding each easy not trying to either pick up or drop to another gait. I likes she was very responsive to her cues when given correctly but when I put a kid up on her that just kept banging their heels into her, she put up with it and never offered to act ugly or pick up into a gait that she was not asked to. Sandra is a horse that is going to be easy for any age rider to ride and for the family to feel safe. She is great for the older person or a person with health problems who like a smoother movement. She has one of those smooth western pleasure jog that you can ride all day with out haring your bones. Sandra is just a great mare all and all with the most important bases covered: Safe, Sound, & Sane.
