| | Update! 8/14/08 - Baxter was shown English Eq @ the DAlonzo show - with different riders!- and won again! Against 5-9 other horse/riders. We schooled him about 3x before the show.
Baxter was a stakeswinner at the track and he wins in the show ring. I won pleasure on him and got a second in Eq. in our first show (yes, there were others in the ring *grin*) - but as much as I enjoy showing him, I hardly have time to show - plus I look awful in my britches. He is easy at shows - ties at the trailer - stands easy while you are away - loads easy to go home. He has a great sense of humor and he loves people. He is NOT a jumper prospect as his years at the track took a toll on his front legs. Previous damamge has been reduced to scar tissue and he travels sound. He could do well at dressge, he just needs to be a little more supple. He hasnt done much trail riding - so he gets nervous - but he really tries to do what you ask. Super sweet to be around - no biting, kicking - easy for the farrier - just a good guy that would like his own person. |
