| Roo is still available through SOS Equines. An adoption recently fell through for him and so handsome Roo still needs a home. The story of Roo is much like that of storybooks like Black Beauty: Roo was brought to a feedlot with his pasture mate to be sold to slaughter. SOS stepped in and listed him and his love, Honey for adoption. When we assessed Roo at the feedlot, he was over anxious and too high strung, but the reason was he was always looking for Honey. We knew it would be very hard to find a place for both of them together and it was. Honey got adopted fairly quickly and we worried so much about Roo left alone in such a terrible place as a feedlot and running out of time before the next truck would ship out horses. We had to save Roo somehow and even though we had no adopter, we were able to raise the funds from many caring people to purchase him and take him off the lot and into the rescue. Again, we were sad for this magnificent looking Tennesse Walker. But once at the security of the rescue, Roo changed and became calmer and a sweetheart. He had been able to move on very well without his pasture mate, Honey. He has done well with some riding done on him. Roo is such a truly handsome guy with the white star on his forehead and 2 white socks and a gorgeous tail... he is really a Princelike horse. Roo still has alot of get-up-and-go so he would not be good for a beginner. Anyone interested in this special horse can come out and see him. We will arrange for a personal showing.
