 | | Reckless is a 16.1hh 8yr old gelding. Reckless is easy to handle and not spooky at all. He has great ground manners and a wonderful kind air about him. He has been ridden up until we got him as an english pleasure horse and had some jumping training. He will jump, we are not jumpers around here but we can get him to jump over 3 and 1/2 foot easy. He has a good handle on him and responds wonderfullly to pressure. We have been working him under the western saddle and he took to it like he had been waiting his whole life to give it a try. He does neck rein and moves through his gaits easy and has no problem holding each gait when you ask him to pick it up. He does gret when we use him to push up cattle and in the pens. He will work a cow and even with his size is quite able to move and work a cow. What we really liked about him is not only will he watch the cattle as he works them but when he locks on he will match them stride for stride. He is broke to loud noises we taken a cap gun, air horn, and ringing cell phone all on his back and made noise and not a single one has ever made him flinch. He does not mind the rope being swung all around him and he will drag things so I we will continue to work him in that direction while he is here. Reckless is also doing very well on the barrel pattern and has plenty of speed. At the current time I would say he is ready for playdays, but if someone really wanted to invest the time into working him on the pattern he for sure and certain could become a money winning barrel horse. He is outstanding on the trails right now and would work great for anyone who is looking for a big stout trail horse that is safe and is easy to handle on the trail. He has no problems on the trail crossing water, going across dead fall, through the brush and bush, and will open and close gates. We have taken him along the road side and he did great not being bothered by the cars going past or the other horses along the way all coming up and running along the fence and showing out.
